APUSH Week of Dec. 7-11

You have learned a lot this year, and even though there is not a final exam for this course, you will still need to review all of the material you have learned this year. On Monday, I want you to use the resource Slavery and the Making of America and I would like for you to explore this website.

On Tuesday, we will review your Jacksonian Democracy packets that were due on Monday. We will review this material by creating a Brain Dump poster of this entire era. You will also create a giant Venn Diagram comparing Jackson and Jefferson as a review. Be prepared for this on Tuesday by doing research on Monday night.

On Tuesday night for homework, please look at the APUSH essay prompt and sample essays- Jackson Democratic Party vs The Whig Party and be prepared to discuss on Wednesday.

Wednesday-Friday we will review the material from the beginning of the year. I expect you to have your notebooks, documents with vocabulary, textbooks, and any other resources used in this class.

HOLIDAY BREAK ASSIGNMENT:

After the break, we will begin the causes and effects of the American Civil War. There are several films that depict this era and I would like for you to watch as many as you can over the break. I understand that many of you are traveling and spending time with your families. One of the films are required, but I encourage you to watch more to truly understand the impact of this era in American History. On the day you return from the break, you will have an assignment related to this film. Many of these films are on Netflix, or you could rent them from Amazon or any other sources:

12 Years a Slave

Amistad

The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn

Glory

Gettysburg

Lincoln

Philosophy Week of Dec 7-11

On Monday, we will practice your Ted Talks as well as create your study guide for the final semester exam. Tonight, you should practice at least 10 times your Ted Talk. My expectations are high for this project. On Tuesday, we will begin the presentations. This Ted Talk Rubric  will be used to evaluate you. The schedule is as follows:
